Lately I have been feeling like a bit of a tweet phene....
Hello, my name is Alicia Gibbs and I am addicted to twitter lol. I feel like I have to check in every 5minutes. During one of my check ins I came a across a tweet from @TerrysTwoCents where he posted 4-5 looks he had submitted for his #wearorpurge outfit of the day.

The first thing I noticed was that all his outfits included a blazer. I asked if he had ever considered wearing a cardigan, sweater or vest. He said he has not because he does not want to look like Mr. Rodgers. I can understand his hesitation; if you pick a knit that is to large such as a cable knit, it will give you the impression that you are wearing your grandpas cardi.

Cardigans are now a very trendy and fashionable piece for a man to have as part of his wardrobe. They give you a put together look while still being classic and stylish. These aren't your grand-daddy's sweaters!

This is how I came up with the post how to wear a cardigan for my Chico Fashion.

A cardigan can be used as a structural piece to tie an outfit or look together the same way you would with a blazer.

You are still able to wear a button down under with or without a tie. They can also be worn with a t-shirt as well, my preference is a V-neck . Cardigans, sweaters, and sweater vest can be worn with jeans, slacks or dockers and can be either dressed up or down.

If every outfit has the perfect shoe to go with it, then it must also have the perfect coat or jacket to match as well.

One of these coats are bound to go well with something you have worn or want to wear.

I decided to do a follow up to my last post just in case anyone was wondering about what I wore.

I had made a purchase a few weeks after I gave birth to my baby girl back in January from ASOS.COM, which included a high waited black skirt and the dress I wore for my birthday. The dress is black and white leopard print on the front and plain black on the back. It’s a stretch spandex cotton material with double “Chris Cross” straps on the back.

I did not know when I was going to wear that dress or even where, I simply thought to myself “it looks “hot” and I want it”.  When it came down to birthday outfits it was definitely a contender among another ASOS choice, a black jumpsuit and my last option was a leather skirts with a cobalt blue one-sleeve top.

After trying on all of my choices I went with the dress, feeling elated that I was able to get into a medium 8months after having a baby. The next task at hand was the SHOES! I knew I wanted a shoe boots or a sandal boot. Something a bit out of my comfort zone, that would also add the glam my dress was lacking.
I searched everywhere, all websites and stores for this shoe I had imagined in my head. Then I found it when I was least expecting it at Nine West Outlet in Jersey Gardens Mall, Elizabeth, NJ. Do not let the word OUTLET mislead you, I felt I paid regular full price for these shoes but “what the hell it’s my birthday” I thought. I love everything about that shoe and felt it went perfectly with the dress; they were also surprisingly more comfortable than anticipated.

I topped of my look with my version of a smoky eye and a normal blow out from a new salon I tried in South Paterson the day before.

Enjoy!

WHOA! I am 26 years young/ old already! I am extremely grateful, appreciative and blessed. I’m not going to try and show off but… I have to say, that by the grace of GOD I have been able to accomplish lots!

I can say that I have had a very well a paying job (trust me for someone with only some college experience, it was very good) I’m a wife, a mother; my daughter Naliya is my most precious gift. I am a soon to be business owner & homeowner, I drive my dream car (08' Toyota Camry) it’s no Bentley but I never said my dream car was.

I can also say that I am healthy and surrounded by an immense amount of individuals who love and sincerely care about me.

I am 26 and I have done, tired or can do just about everything thing I have wanted to and quite well if I may add.

I have; walked down a runway, sang in front of a congregation, danced in a group, and participated in a Miss Teen N.J. beauty pageant and won a private softball league’s beauty pageant (so I was 13 up against 7 year Old’s, I still won). I have given fashion drawing, sewing and pattern making a try, I passed the N.J State board exam to be a licensed Nail Technician, I studied cosmetology, and I am an amateur makeup artist and stylist.

I have had the chance of meeting my soul mate; I’ve been in love and out of love… I was a United States Active Duty Solider, I been swimming since I was six & driving since 18, have gone to both public and private schools, I am an original Jersey Girl no tan needed thanks…

I am proud of who I am and all that I have done, I am my mother’s daughter and if it wasn’t for her, her hard work & wonderful parenting I wouldn’t be who I am today… Fabulous.

More often times than not we can be our own worst critics… don’t sell yourself short. Sit back and think of all that, you have done in your life span, all that you can, and will do; and what you will wear when you do.
