Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend the largest fashion and beauty tradeshow event on the East Coast, Emiliani Enterprises hosted their 2012 BeautyExpo, RUNWAY V.

The event was held at the NJ Convention and Expo Center in Edison, NJ. The VIP opening night ceremony was held on Saturday, October 20th from 6:30-11pm and the Beauty Expo will began on Sunday, October 21st - Monday, October 22nd from 9am-5pm.

Some event highlights will included a tribute to Vidal Sassoon, a 100ft runway show event featuring top designers & stylists, and an exhibitor display of Ri Ci Curls - a five product hair line targeted specifically for women with curly hair founded by Ricky Pennisi.

Successful salon owner and stylist Ricky Pennisi, the founder of RI CI
products, has specialized in curly hair since 1995. Ricky recognized the need to develop cutting techniques and products uniquely designed for his curly-haired clients.

Knowing that the challenges presented by curly hair is unique to each client, Ricky set out to develop a product line with the ability to achieve beautiful curls each and every time while keeping the range of products simple and easy to understand. Ricky developed formulations utilizing the best available ingredients and testing the products on his most challenging curly-haired clientele.
RI CI Curls Review
My before photo... a 3 day twist out hiding under my hat.
My daughter and I were able to get consultations and our hair styled at the show by Ricky Pennisi himself! Up until attending the show I had never heard of RI CI Curls. It gave my hair so much moisture, definition and shine. The best part is that it gives you the wet/ gelled hair look with out the damage or that hard crunchy texture. I also love hat my hair was still looking great, practically the same definition 3 to 4 days after having it styled.
The products used on both my daughter and I were the products that come in the "Styling Kit" which are:  (1) 16oz. Splash Shampoo, (1) 16oz. Drench Conditioner, (1) 8oz. Thirsty Styling Gel, (1) 8oz. Memory Setting Spray and (1) 3oz. Velvet Serum. Click to read detailed product ingredients. Between the products and the RI CI Styling Steps my hair has never looked better! I cannot say anything more positive about these products other than I love them!
RI CI Curls Review
My curls after being style with the RI CI products.
After having had my hair styled it was my daughters turn and she gladly agreed. Like me she tends to have tons of shrinkage and the products seemed to help a tad. Also my main problem with her hair is it flattening in the back when she sits in the car seat. I noticed the curls kept their shape, definition and bounce all I had to do was fluff it a bit with my fingers and it looked great.

1) Name, age, residence?

Hello my name is Daily Baez, my age is a mystery even to myself, want to be like Charitin Goico "ageless" jejjejjejj I currently live in Santo Domingo, D.R. with constant travel to California on business.

2) Name of your blog?

Daily Curlz

3) How did you come up with the name for your blog?

It was very simple actually, my name Daily means daily in the English language, then the first thing that came to mind was dailycurlz curls every day (I added the Z to make it look different)

4) How long have you Blogging?

I have been blogging since April 2011

5) Why and how you decided to enter the world of blogging?

My hair had been chemically processed since the age of 15 and after much thought, I was deciding to or battled with the idea of letting go of chemical relaxers and I did. During the transition process I was desperately seeking support and acceptance in the Latino community, in my friends and family, I started putting photos and post on my personal Facebook page and did not see, or feel that support. Several "friends" would say that all I was talking about was hair and were tired of it, that day I opened a Facebook fan page with the same name dailycurlz, I started doing research and posting on my new page where I received a tremendous support from my natural hair sisters, first by the African-American community and gradually the Latin, but I realized that Facebook loses the information over time and that was how it was born www.dailycurlz.com was originally in Spanish and then became a bilingual, all posts are in both Spanish and English.

6) What if any is the difference between a blogger in the U..S. and the Dominican Republic?

The only difference from my point of view is that in the United States bloggers are given more value.. Growth opportunities are incredible if you work hard and consistent. In America a blogger is someone important and companies see you and appreciate you as such.

7) In 6 months where do you see yourself as a blogger and where do you see your blog?

I do not set dates, I try to make each post authentic and full of love. I have many aspirations for my blog and would like to undertake right now. I would like to have the opportunity to devote myself full time to this and to take be able to sustain myself from the blogging since this is a passion for me, I read and try to stay ahead with the times. I'm always looking for that little opportunity to take my blog to another level.

8) What is your goal for your blog in 5 years?

Only God knows, but I'll be safe here, Latinas have much to learn when it comes to naturaly curly hair and the damage done by chemicals, I assure you I have work for a while. jejjej

9) How do you describe your personal style?

My style is very casual, I try to dress appropriately for each occasion, although I confess that since I'm blogging and I am meeting so many girls like yourself and other fabulous fashionistas I feel my style is a bit more daring. I am more comfortable combining textures and colors that I used to think would not or could not go with my skin color.

10) For who or for which blog would like to be a blog guest blogger on?

I'd be lying if I said I would not like to be invited to onto a great well known blog like for example Latina magazine, Essence Magazine and other independent famous bloggers, that would be a dream, but I'm at a stage where every mention, every invitation even and is even when it is to take part in a photographic session makes me feel immensely grateful & I a very humbled.

11) What trends are you currently loving and which ones do you dislike?

I love neon and its combinations with beige and other neon colors. Also I like creating arm parties with different bracelets combined with different textures and colors.

12) How do you shop, on a budget, online, thrifting?

In this economy it is difficult to have a plan with respect to purchases, the good thing is that we have several sources where we can investigate and research before buying. If you have something in mind before you go shopping look online first, the budget is always the lowest jajjajja! I check on E-bay, Amazon, check the links on Pinteret photo's that I like and that is when I go to stores .. Marshall, Ross and TJmax are my best friends.

13) What are the rules that you always use when blogging about fashion? (optional)

I do not blog about fashion often, but is something I want to start doing more of, the rules are simple, I can make entries or post about almost everything but always with a touch of curly hair, whether I speak of the Neon trends, for example I focus on how well it would work with this or that hairstyle, always keeping the same line of the blog and my readers.

14) Music you are currently listening to?

I have two young girls, for that reason I am always listening to music in English that is in, I do it as a way to be connected more with them, of course there are always time to include a bachata or a good Merenguito... sopla chichi ...

15) Your favorite dish and your favorite restaurant?

I like to try everything, to know the cultures of the countries for their food. I am the type of person that will walk into a new the restaurant. I also take magazine clippings and paste in the fridge and then visit.

16) Anything you would like readers to know about you or your blog?

Thank you for the opportunity to reach your readers, thank you for the support you have given me each time I have needed it. Maybe your readers do not know about the  great heart you have and I want to take this opportunity to let them know (I hope you do not edit this part jajjajjaj). Love yourselves just as you are, natural.

Visit my blog and my social pages I am to help you, kisses

1) Nombre/edad/residencia?

4) Cuanto tiempo tienes blogging?

9) Como describirías to estilo personal?

15) Tu plato preferido y/ o tu Restaurante preferido?

After my "big chop" I visited my fav Walgreens to restock on my natural hair products and to also buy new products to try. I say it is my fav because they have all of the items I have either read about or have heard people talk about.
I went in looking for a leave in conditioner, a conditioner for co-washing and a gel.
I ended up purchasing...
- TRESemme Moisture Rich conditioner (restock)
-Aragon Oil strength and shine leave-in conditioner (new product)
-Kinky, Wavy herbal comb out (restock for my baby)
-Twisted Sista 30 second curl spray (new product)
-Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioner (restock)
-Shea Moisture curling soufflé (new product)
I have used the TRESemme Moisture Rich conditioner before as well as the shampoo although my all-time fav is PANTENE PRO-V RELAXED & NATURAL FOR WOMEN OF COLOR dry to moisture shampoo and conditioner. However for co-washing it can get expensive which is why I opt to use the TRESemme conditioner. It has a good sent, is light weight and leave my hair feeling soft and full.

The next item that I have used in the past and needed to restock on was the Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioner. I bought this item originally after my hair dye dilemma to nurse my curls back to good health. Although it was a failed attempt I fell in love with this product. It smells amazing and is very light weight so it doesn’t weigh your hair down. My hair soaks it up right away giving it the moisture it needs. This leave-in is packed with ingredients to help moisturize condition, detangle, repair and restore damaged hair.
Another restock item was my daughter's leave-in conditioner. I had heard about this product through Curly Nikki's site and bought it as soon as I found it. My daughter has more of a 3C texture but her hair craves moisture and this product works great. It has a wonderful sent, isn’t greasy or heavy and helps to detangle, prevent breakage and condition.
The Shea Moisture curling soufflé is a new product I picked up and I am really loving it, although it does leave a bit of a sticky/ greasy residue it is not too bad that I would stop using it. I love it because it really moisturizes my hair. The best part is that it gives my short new do that wet/gelled hair look but without the damage. It provides lots of shine and body too.
Another new product for me is the Twisted Sista 30 second curling spray. So far I have only used this on second and even third day hair to spruce up my curls and somewhat refresh and revitalize them.
The last new product I purchased for myself was the Crème of Nature Aragon Oil Strength and Shine Leave In conditioner. I use this daily as a nourishing and protective spray. I apply it before any product I use almost like food for my hair. It is a liquid protein complex to protect the hair and add shine.
