At the Hotel Derek in Houston, fans gathered to hear Jose “JoJo” Padrón of
Univision Radio read an excerpt from the best-selling bookThe Lucky One. The reading was followed by a Q&A with Hispanic relationship expert Eva Szego, during which invited guests asked questions on love, fate and destiny—all prevalent themes in the film. “Sometimes we walk a certain path, but unexpected events happen that make us reevaluate our lives,” said Szego to the crowd.
On the River Walk in San Antonio, Janet Sanchez, the founder of Esposas Militares Hispanas USA, read a passage from the book and conducted a Q&A session with local community members. As a military spouse and former member of the Army National Guard, Sanchez was honored to be a part of this special event. Sanchez touched on her own personal experiences and discussed the impact that serving overseas has on relationships.
THE LUCKY ONE is the latest film from Nicholas Sparks, the acclaimed author who penned the bestselling novels The Notebook andDear John. The romantic drama opens in theaters nationwide April 20, 2012.
