I usaually don't make a big fuss about Valentine's Day since my husband althought thoughtful and loving is not so great with romantic surprises. I always have very little expectations this way whatever comes about is better than nothing.
 

This year I decided early in the day that I would make a dinner date for him, our daughter and I. I went to Costco, The Dollar Tree and Stop & Shop to get everything I needed to make a lasagna, cheesy bread, an Olive Garden inspired salad (with a dead on dressing from Pinterest), fried calamari and chocolate covered strawberries. As well as ballons, flowers and cards for each my husband and daughter.

Everything was going as planned then when I called my husband to see if he was almost on his way before showering and getting myself and daughter dressed, he tells me he was scheduled for a night trip. Ah I wanted to scream, I would have done everything Friday night but instead I called my mom over and we ate lol. It was a perfect at  home date with my mother and daughter, it would have been great if my husband could have joined. I packed his meal for lunch.

Yo usaualmente no hago un gran alboroto sobre el Día de San Valentín aun que mi marido es reflexivo y amoroso no es tan grande en el area de sorpresas románticas. Siempre tengo expectativas muy pocas, de esta manera todo lo que se produce es mejor que nada.

Este año decidí temprano en el día que iba a hacer una cena para él, nuestra hija y yo. Fui a Costco, The Dollar Tree y Stop & Shop para conseguir todo lo que necesita para hacer una lasaña, pan con queso, una ensalada tipo Olive Garden (con un adereso casi igual que consegui de Pinterest), calamares fritos y fresas cubiertas de chocolate. Además de globos, flores y tarjetas para mi esposo y hija.

Todo iba según lo planeado hasta que llamé a mi marido para ver si si casi estaba en camino a la casa antes de ducharme y vestir mi hija y yo. Me dice que el estaba anotado para un viaje de noche en su empleo. Ah yo quería gritar, yo habría hecho todo la noche del viernes, pero en vez, llamé a mi mamá y comimos ella y yo lol. Fue una cena perfecta en mi casa con mi madre y hija, hubiera sido genial si mi marido hubiera estado tambien. Guarde la comida de el para su almuerzo.
