A few weeks ago we headed to Florida to spend Thanksgiving weekend with my older brother and his family. Drive STI loaned us the sleek 184 HORSEPOWER-35 EPA-EST HWY MPG-2.5L SKYACTIV-G 4-CYL Mazda CX-5. To say we loved this crossover would be an understatement.
We drove the car all weekend to go shopping, vist the RIverwalk in Tampa, sushi in Brandon and of course Walt Disney World in Orlando. The ride is smooth and gas? The car saves a ton! I was surprised by how much we were able to drive on a tank of gas.
The interior of the Mazda CX-5 is nice and modern. The cockpit is so innovative and beautiflly designed, making it easy to use and navigate with minimal distractions while driving. My favorite part had to be the GPS, the display was clear, advanced and detailed. The imgaes presented on the screen made for minimal confussion when switching highways or preparing for an exit.
A very cool feature is i-Activesense, the car is eqipped with cameras and sensors that help alert you before hazards happen. It can help detect a vehicle approaching and prompts with both visual and audible alerts. This was particularlly helpful since I had never driven in Florida before and wasn't familiar with the roads.
I only used this car for a long weekend but would definitely recommend it as family car if you are on the market. It drives incredibly smooth has a ton of features and specs, plus the trunk space is amazing! You can easily fit luggage for your entire family. Trust me, we did. 3 personal bags, 3 cary-ons and 3 luaggaes, everything fit with ease and did not block the rear view.
There are a ton of awesome safety features including Advanced front air bags26 with seat belt-use, passenger-weight sensors and LATCH child safety seat anchors & upper tether anchors.
